Barry Gibb and The Bee Gees Sing and Play 14 Barry Gibb Songs is the Bee Gees LP debut (1967's Bee Gees 1st was the international debut album). It was released in November 1965 on the Australian Leedon label. The apostrophe in the album's printed title was a grammatical error.
This album is a compilation of most of their singles that had been released in Australia over the previous three years, and includes many different styles of music on it. The earlier tracks such as "Peace of Mind," "Claustrophobia", and "Could It Be" have the Merseybeat sound of 1964, while the later ones such as "Follow the Wind" and "And the Children Laughing" reflect the folk music of 1965. Track numbers 2, 3, and 4 were recorded specifically for this album.
The LP was only released in CD format as part of the box set The Festival Album Collection 1965-67, now out of print. It is extremely hard to find its original LP. All of the songs on the album, however, were released on the Brilliant From Birth compilation in 1998.
